Summer puts extra stress on our skin, due to excessive heat and harsh UV rays of the sun and because of the weather changes, pollution levels rise during summers. This can lead to rashes, sunburns and sun tan.

Sun tanning is exposure to the ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun, which have a wavelength of 400–1050 nm and a corresponding range of 120 nm to 1 nm. It is a type of hyperpigmentation that occurs when the tiny blood vessels in the outermost layer of the skin, the epidermis, are exposed to UV light. The pigment is produced by cells called melanocytes within the epidermis.
