Stages of Spermatogenesis

Spermatogenesis

What is Spermatogenesis?

Spermatogenesis is the biological process of making sperm and male gametes in animals, by which diploid spermatogonial stem cells (haploid spermatogonia) divide and differentiate into mature spermatozoa.

Chemically, spermatogenesis is the process of synthesizing an intricate cocktail of about 200 different proteins, which are used to create a functional sperm cell. Spermatogenesis occurs in the seminiferous tubules of the testicles and only takes place in males.

Where does Spermatogenesis occur?

Spermatogenesis is the process of cell division that results in the formation of sperm cells. Spermatogenesis takes place in the seminiferous tubules in a male's testes. These tubules are divided into stages based on the maturational changes that they undergo during spermatogenesis.

What is the Process of Spermatogenesis?

Spermatogenesis is a complex process and involves multiple stages. Spermatogenesis has many biological functions, including cellular division.

The stages of spermatogenesis include spermatocytogenesis, spermatogenesis and spermiogenesis.

  1. Spermatocytogenesis: The first stage of spermatogenesis is the spermatocyte stage. During this stage, the cells produced are called primary spermatocytes. The cells' genetic material is halved so that upon the completion of spermatogenesis, there are sperm cells with only one set of chromosomes.

  2. Spermatogenesis: Spermatogenesis is the second stage wherein spermatids get created from secondary spermatocytes. Secondary spermatocytes produced in the first stage divide to produce haploid spermatids.

  3. Spermiogenesis: Spermiogenesis is the last stage wherein the formation of spermatozoa takes place. In the last stage, the spermatid cells see an increase in the size of the tail and a decrease in the spermatozoa head.

Spermatogenesis VS Oogenesis

Spermatogenesis is the process of cellular differentiation (or more specifically, cell growth and cell division) that leads to the formation of either a spermatozoon (single-celled) or an egg cell (cell division is involved to form the haploid ovum). This is a process specific to the mammalian male, linked with sexual differentiation and development. It is considered to be separate from oogenesis, the process of cellular differentiation leading to the formation of an ovum (female gamete), in that the latter occurs in females and involves only the growth and division of oogonia.

How Long Does it Take for Sperms to Regenerate?

The sperm regeneration cycle is called spermatogenesis which takes about 64 days to complete the cycle of sperm production and maturation. Spermatogenesis constantly supplies sperm that are capable of travelling through the vagina to an unfertilized ovum in a woman’s ovaries to complete the process of conception.

What is Sperm Motility?

Sperm motility refers to the ability of the sperm to swim through the female reproductive tract in order to fertilize an egg.

Healthy sperm motility can be defined as sperm with forwarding progressions of at least 25 micrometres per second. Poor sperm motility is called asthenozoospermia. This causes issues like slow or sluggish progressive motility, no mobility or non-progressive motility.

How can you increase your sperm motility?

Testosterone is responsible to stimulate sperm production and a low level of testosterone might lead to reduced sperm production and sex drive.

Sex drive is the desire to have sexual intercourse. It has a variety of definitions. In men, low libido or low sex drive is often a result of hormone problems, but can also be caused by psychological issues, stress or medical reasons. It has been found that low libido is the root cause of many other sexual problems and in some cases, a temporary state can lead to adverse permanent effects.

Ashwagandha s considered the king of Ayurvedic herbs. It is extensively used in numerous Indian medicines. It is also an important ingredient in the non-alcoholic drinks of India. Ashwagandha has been used for centuries as a medicine and even today, it is used to treat infertility, impotence, and other sexual problems.

Our complete performance kit contains natural testosterone boosters like ashwagandha, shilajit, Safed Musli, gokshura, Shatavari and a long-lasting spray.

1) Shatavari can give you extra power to increase your performance time which can ultimately help you to last longer in bed. Shatavari is used in premature ejaculation and male fertility treatment. It increases the number of sperms and improves the quality of sperms as well.

2) Shilajit helps to treat sexual wellness issues which is a common problem in both heart patients and diabetic patients. Shilajit has been used for male sexual inadequacy for a long time.

Shilajit tablets can help to increase testosterone levels and boost sexual functions. This is one of the best virility tablets that improves energy levels and boosts overall stamina.

3) Safed Musli helps in reducing mental stress and anxiety and stimulates the hormones to increase sex drive. Safed Musli is a perfect medicine for male sexual disorders and the best choice for men suffering from premature ejaculation.

Take Away

Spermatogenesis is the process of diploid spermatogonia cells dividing meiotically and differentiating into haploid spermatids. The process of meiotic and post-meiotic cell division in the testicles is called spermatogenesis.
